The best stories on HiKristen don't sound like articles. They sound like the group chat at 1 a.m. — if the group chat prayed more.
What We Publish
Love, money, family, purpose, and culture — through the lens of faith. Personal essays, reported features, testimonies that read like short stories, and reflections with teeth. If it happened to you and it taught you something about God, people, or money, we want to read it.
What We're Looking For
- —
Real over tidy
We'd rather have the honest, unresolved truth than a neat lesson with a bow on it.
- —
Specific over general
One badly misread text message beats a thousand words about 'communication in relationships.'
- —
Jesus at the center
Not a footnote, not a punchline. Faith woven through the story the way it's woven through your life.
- —
800–1,500 words
That's the sweet spot for essays. Features can run longer — pitch first.
What We Don't Run
Listicles with no soul. Shame-based takes disguised as standards. Gossip. And anything that sounds like it was written to impress a pastor instead of a reader.
How to Pitch
- —
Headline idea
Give us your working title — even a rough one shows us how you think.
- —
The details
A two-to-three sentence summary, then your full draft (or a detailed outline), a short bio, and where you've been published before — if anywhere. First-time writers are welcome here.
- —
Response time
We reply within 14 days to every serious pitch. If it's a fit, we'll discuss payment and edits together.
- —
Rights
We buy first-time publication rights. The story stays yours afterward — we just get to be its first home.
