Stepping Out On The Word

Hello again!

In these posts, you will read and bear witness to some to my life lessons. One major lesson God has taught me is the importance of “stepping out on the word”. In life, I find it is important to “just trust God”, and simply step out on His word. Remember when Peter was in the boat and the storm was raging? He wanted proof that it was Jesus walking on the water. Peter wanted to go to where Jesus was, but there was no physical way to get there. So He said, “Lord if it be you, bid me come”…Jesus said “come”, and this was the way. Peter was simply walking on the word Jesus spoke which was “come”. Peter’s action was the activator that made what he wanted come to pass. The way was already made. The path was already made. All he had to do was step out on the word.

The dilema today though is the faith to step out. We lack the information to ”step out” because there is a lack of God’s word in our hearts.

Since the bible says, “Faith cometh by hearing and hearing by the word of God” and “we walk by faith and not by sight”, it implies that everything we need is in the word of God. The key to everything you need is in the word of God. There are some areas (or holes) in our lives that the word can fill and make complete. Focus on the word. Forget Twitter, Facebook, LinkedIn, and other social sites and focus on the Word. There is no way to have great faith in Jesus, or faith at all, without the proper information. The information you need is in God’s word.

Biblical Steps of Faith:

Repentance- forgiveness from God for your sins. Forgiving others for their offences toward you. Forgiveness of others for your offences toward them.

Give God Praise-Praise God for who He is. Thank God for the things He has already done.

Make your request known- Find the scriptures in the Word of God that pertain to your situation. Pray to God, your father, and present to him the things you desire. Sometimes you may need to seek God and ask Him His will pertaining to what you are requesting (simply ask, “Lord can I have this?”)

Give God Praise Again- Thank God for the things He has already done. Thank him in advance that you have what you pray for.

Stand in Faith- Understand that God heard you and is willing and able to give you what you ask for according to His will. (This is the ‘stepping out on the word’ part…)

Continue to stand- Speak the word, thank God, listen for instruction Expect to receive…

God can and will work on your behalf!! You must be willing to consistently stand and believe the word.
