Day 41
Unmatched
He does as He pleases with the powers of heaven and the peoples of the earth. No one can hold back His hand." Daniel 4:35
Here’s a perspective to shape your life:
You can NOT beat God giving. Period.
I remember hearing my pastor build our faith with the song, “you can’t beat God giving, no matter how you try”
He was 100% right. God has doubled (sometimes 3X-10X) my financial seed.
But as I get older, I see God doing exceeding, abundantly in other areas of my life that I am intentional about sowing to Him - areas outside of money.
It seems that whatever we honor God with, He blesses exceeding abundantly above what we think is possible.
For example, let’s look at the life of Hannah in 1 Samuel. She was a barren woman who prayed to God for children. Her promise to God was, If you give me a child, I’ll give Him back to you, in service of you [paraphrasing]. Here’s what happened next…. God honored her promise. God allowed Hannah to bear a son, Samuel. She then committed Samuel to serving God.
The Best Part:
Hannah gave to God the child she “prayed for” (Samuel) and God gave her 5 MORE children. 1-2-3-4-5. Five!
What am I saying?
Stretch your faith to believe the principle of sowing applies to more than finances. Be intentional. Sow to God (and His house). Make a space for your family, your body, your finances, etc to be sacred to Him only by considering Him first. Then, watch Him take care of those things that concern you.
1 Samuel 2:20-21 (NKJV) 20 And Eli would bless Elkanah and his wife [Hannah], and say, “The LORD give you descendants from this woman for the loan that was given to the LORD.” Then they would go to their own home. 21 And the LORD visited Hannah, so that she conceived and bore three sons and two daughters. Meanwhile the child Samuel grew before the LORD.
Action Steps: 1. Make a space to honor God in every area of your life. 2. Be intentional about God having access by showing Him honor. Honor implies, “you’re first” 3. Understand that he will not allow Himself to be outdone by anyone.
Prayer: Father in the name of Jesus I thank you because your word is sure and your strength is unmatched. There is no one like you. You are great and your name is mighty in power. I am thankful I can trust your heart when I cannot trace your hand. Help me to honor you by including you in every area of my life. Help me to be intentional about putting you first as you demonstrate in my life that you are unmatched. As I honor you, I acknowledge that you may choose to bless me in another way. Help me to still choose honor. In Jesus’ name. Amen.
Time with the Father: Spend time reading 1 Samuel 2. As you read, write down any insights you gain.
