And Breathe...

Have you ever been in the company of others, or in the grocery store but said a short silent prayer to God? I have. I've prayed to Him in my heavenly language or just said His name. Sometimes it is in response to Him because I can feel him around me. It may be because I just want to know He is around so I call out to Him, "Jesus, Jesus, Jesus...". Either way, I am the girl in the group who will "check out" for a few seconds to reconnect with my Father. Nothing deep, just prayer. Consistently including Him, making sure He is in the mix, keeping our communication going.

This is what I like to call "breath prayers”. During the day as I walk or am doing something, I take time to acknowledge God with a short prayer. Nothing long and drawn out, just a simple ”Lord I love you”, “You are so good”, “Lord I need your help”, or “God don’t kill this lady for talking to me crazy” lol.

Breath prayers are not merely ways to vent how you feel, nor are they quiet outbursts. Prayer is our method to talk with God; a way to stay in touch with God. As God cultivates intimacy with you, you will learn to “cling” to him. You’ll find that as you pray just simple prayers, God will come to you while you are pumping gas, or clocking in at work to commune with you “just because”.

Challenge for this week: Remember to talk to God. Keep Him on you mind through breath prayers…
